And thus my final semester of college has begun!
All I have to deal with this semester is studio art, which is nice, but it also means I'm on campus from dusk til dawn. I won't lie, senioritis is hitting hard lmao. The main motivation I even have to keep going are my friends in the sculpture studio. It genuinely makes my day to hang out and make art with them. Especially after having spent so much time with Jim, being apart again is really getting to me. I miss it a lot.
On a lighter note, I'M GOING TO A CONCERT IN A FEW MONTHS YIPPEEEEEE!!!! Red Leather is actually coming to a venue near me and his tickets are like super reasonable! I am hype. He does like alternative rock but country/cowboy. This song is my absolute favorite by him. I'm gonna go with my sister too, so that'll be a nice thing for us to do together before I move in with Jim. I think she's just going cus it's standing room only and thinks there's gonna be a "mosh pit" lmao.
But yeah, that's it really. I'm looking very forward to seeing Jim for Valentine's Day :3
January 11, 2026
Buckle up gamers, this is gonna be a loooooooooooooong one.
OH BOY so much has happened! I guess I'll start with Christmas. Jim and I only had 3 to go to this year instead of 4, which was nice, but still wore us out. We got a bunch of movies, which was really nice. I also got the Frankenstein behind the scenes book, it's so freaking cool (and hefty lmao). Jim got me a scanner and this really cool book that's a historian disccusing the day-to-day life of different Medieval people. We also went on a little shopping day trip where Jim spoiled me heehee :3. I got some books, candy, and a little Skaven plushie.
Which that's another big update: I've been suckered into playing Warhammer lmao. It began with watching Jim and our friend Daisy play Total Warhammer, and then I joined in when I found out you can pay as lizard guys riding dinosaurs. For a bit I was only interested in Age of Sigmar, but as Jim got suckered into tabletop 40K, I did too. I thought your only option for 40k was some flavor of Space Marine, but then I found out you can play as Adeptus Mechanicus and uh
I used some Christmas money to get the Admech combat patrol! I still have some flying guys to assemble. They're kinda annoying to assemble, in part cus I have to distress the wings (which takes a while and kinda hurts my wrists, but it looks so freaking cool) and I need to keep the wings and guys separate until after they're painted. But my goal is to have them all assembled before the spring semester starts so I can paint them during the summer. I've even freaking come up with lore for them lmao (they were a unit sent off to the Ghoul Stars to find stuff, but because of bureaucracy they got forgotten out there. Eventually they made it back though, but not before becoming a little silly goofy. They started acting really weird, even by admech standards lmao). They're also gonna be girlypop old DS themed. I'm gonna try mixing that very specific rose gold dull pink color of the DS Lite and paint their cloaks with it (they were gone so long the red faded to pink). I also wanna slap some like Lisa Frank stickers on them as decals or something.
Jim and I visited some friends at the start of the new year! We assembled minis and watched movies together, it was super fun. We showed them Mars Express, which I cannot recommend enough!!! It's genuinely an amazing film and is up there with my absolute favorites. To steal Jim's description "It's a tight, well-paced sci-fi mystery set on Mars following two detectives (one human and one robot that used to be a human) investigating the disappearance of a cybernetics student." The animation is absolutely gorgeous and the worldbuilding is phenomenal. It's so freaking good but nobody freaking knows about it.
Jim and I went to this really cool exhibit of Roman sculpture at the art museum. I recently decided to start like live sketching at museums, and this is the first time I've actually done it. Check out my art page to see the sketches and an extra drawing I did afterward!
I think my absolute favorite piece was this GORGEOUS statue of a goddess, likely Hestia (she's my favorite).
I also really liked these pieces of Eros and Psyche (they're one of my favorite myths) and Athena (I love the little owl in her hand).
I also got to see a bronze statue!!! These are SUPER rare to see, since most of them were melted down so the raw bronze could be used for other stuff. This was especially common practice as Christianity spread to the area, and people destroyed statues of Greek/Roman Gods. A lot of marble statues are copies of these long-lost bronzes. Most bronzes in museums are just fragments, and there aren't a ton of full pieces like this remaining. My personal favorite of these is "The Boxer/Boxer at Rest." Like the name suggests, it depicts a boxer sitting down and looking to the side, gazing up at someone or something. There's inlaid copper representing dried blood, and his face is swollen with cauliflower ears. Anywho, this was the bronze at the exhibit!
They also had Caravaggio's "Judith Slaying Holfernes"!!!!!!! It's my second favorite rendition of the scene; my favorite is the one by Artemisia Gentileschi. It's so much bigger than it seems in pictures, it was probably about as tall as I am.
Anyway, that's it for now! The start of the spring semester is about a week away, so I'm gonna be prepping for that (ಥ ͜ʖಥ)
December 15, 2025
I'm feeling much better now! I've been released from the shackles of the fall semester and now winter break has begun!!! (◕ᗜ◕)
Since it's break, I'm living with Jim for the time being. Long distance sucks, so I'm glad that we can live together like this before I move in. We decorated the apartment for Christmas too! We have a bunch of video game themed ornaments and set up what we call the "Gamer Tree" each year. We still need a treetopper but haven't found one we like yet :( We also use something we've dubbed "the little fella theory of decoration" where we just use a bunch of little festive critters to decorate. You can kinda see some of them in the pic:
A little detail with the tree is that I put Samus and Master Chief together. They feel like they'd be the introverted cousins who find each other at family gatherings and just sit in a corner showing each other memes. Or they're the older cousins who go for a "walk" on Thanksgiving together.
Decorating was done this weekend, but today I've been working on my site more! My collections section actually has some content now (at the very least I've added sections, still gotta take and add photos of stuff though). Now I gotta go fold some laundry (I love helping out my precious yeen with chores <3)

Guess who's sickkkkkkkk (T▽T)
It's nothing crazy, just end of semester crud. I'm stupid sniffly and trying to figure out what meds will help (some stuff dries me up way too much and makes me feel worse while other stuff just doesn't do anything). I am doing better I think? Definitely not worse, which is good, but still feeling like garbage (◞‸◟)
December 7, 2025
This weekend was very eventful (✖﹏✖) I legit exhausted myself on Saturday from all the running around I did with my mom and sister. I got a Peach Riot figure out of it at least (although one was a duplicate, gonna try trading it). I went to an estate sale and unfortunately did not find much, but I got some funky cups and a gift for a friend! Then my sister had her guitar lesson and I wandered the mall nearby a bit. I also contemplated buying a Yule Log from Homegoods but the sculptor in me said "I could make that" so I refrained for now.
Today was a lot less eventful but still busy. I went to this really cool hair salon to get a trim. They had a pay what you want day with proceeds going to a food bank and they raised $550! They were so sweet, and it was so nice going to a hairdresser that knew exactly what I wanted and trusted me on the length!!! My sister got a sick wolf cut-like style (the salon we used to go to basically refused to do more than two layers, but her hair really needed four or five). The stylist complimented my hair and said it was extremely healthy, which like hardcore inflated my ego lol ╰(⸝⸝⸝´꒳`⸝⸝⸝)╯ I just wash it with shampoo and conditioner and let it air dry, but clearly I'm doing something right!!
Then tonight I put up the tree at my parents' house and "helped" my mom wrap gifts.
Anyway that's all for now! Tomorrow I'll be cleaning up what I lovingly refer to as my "art hole" at my parents' place before reading maybe (my mom gave me the first Dungeon Crawler Carl book since both she and my dad have finished it). Gooooooodnight!
December 5, 2025
And now my classes for the semester are finally done!!!(〜^∇^)〜
All that's left before break is studio and gallery cleanup (which won't be too bad, probably just mostly painting walls and stuff) and a gallery show put on by the graduating seniors. Then I go off to live with Jim over break!!!
December 3, 2025
Finals season is slowly coming to a close for me this week (ಥ﹏ಥ) I spent all day finishing a quilt and making shortbread. Hopefully my crit tomorrow goes well!
Also, it turns out Hadestown is on tour next year (again) and we're gonna go see it!!! I've seen it before and it's genuinely one of my favorite musicals of all time. I'm really really excited to have the chance to show it to Jim.
December 2, 2025
It's been a minute lmao, time kinda passes like that huh. Anyway, I had a really nice Thanksgiving. My partner came down for the holiday and we got to spend time together!!! (─‿‿─) ♡
Part of that was going to the ren faire! We actually got engaged there last year and went on our anniversary. Jim had an absolutely sick costume (there's pictures in its blog post!!) and I had a ton of fun just wandering around. I trinket traded and finally saw the joust! There were also a lot of adorable kids who came up to the two of us and stared in awe at Jim, it was so freaking cute.
Also also, yesterday was my birthday! (๑>ᗜºั) Didn't do a massive celebration, but I had my favorite fried fish tacos and cake, so that was a win. Overall, break was really fun, but now it's back to the finals grind (ಥ﹏ಥ)
November 24, 2025
My exams weren't bad ᕕ (ᐛ) ᕗ !!!!!
I also finally got around to altering a lace skirt thing for my ren faire fit (with help from my mom)! Jim and I are going this weekend and I'm really hype. I have three missions: a Spice Boys poster, a ring that matches/is similar to Jim's, and candles. Any also any Greek myth stuff. And shinies. And anything else I find (─‿‿─)
But yeah! That's today's update. I'm gonna work on my business card and hang out in a voice call with my friends
November 23, 2025
As of yesterday, I've had to start a new sketchbook! I've had the other one since January of last year. Even though I'm in the college of art, I haven't had much time to make art and draw for myself :(.
This week is Thanksgiving break though!! I have two of my finals tomorrow .°(ಗдಗ。)°. but they're both open note so hopefully it'll be easy peasy! And I get to see my hubband soon!!!! (⚈∇⚈ )
But yeah!! That's today (so far at least). I decided to do the fun thing of updating my site before the boring thing of making an exam review. I'm so excited to get the rest of this even more up and running!
